#NoWasteNovember

No Waste November is a global movement that began in 2017 by Dr Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program.

Do you remember Dr Jane Goodall, the English primatologist who has been studying wild chimpanzees in Africa for over half a century?

In 1991, she set up the  “Roots & shoots” organisation and brought young students in Tanzania together to identify environmental problems and find potential solutions. There are now 150,000 members across 140 countries and “No Waste November” is one of their latest initiatives to tackle the global waste issue.

Here at RecycleSmart… we loved the idea, so we’re here to share it!

Think of all those coffee cups, plastic straws, plastic bags, bottles, fruit and vegetable packaging, old clothes and food we throw away every day. Think of all of the energy and resources that went into making them, and the amount of waste they generate in landfill.

This is the idea behind #NoWasteNovember: if we can all reduce the amount of waste we produce, it can make a big difference!

As always, we’re here to make things easy for you, so our team has created a No Waste November Guide, filled with daily tips to help you reduce your waste for the month of November, and hopefully forever! Studies do suggest that it takes a month to develop a new habit soo…

Ready to reduce your waste? Ready Set…Go!

Don’t forget to share your progress on social media too. Share your no waste alternatives like keep cups, reusable straws, cloth shopping bags rather than plastic ones, and more! Take a photo and pop it up on Facebook and Instagram – and don’t forget to use the #NoWasteNovember hashtags and tag @RecycleSmart!

The more you share, the more you’ll inspire others to get involved, and even little changes here and there can add up to a huge change if enough people take part!
