What happens to your soft plastics

We bring soft plastics recycling to your doorstep or business.

How it works

  1. Book an on-demand pickup or subscribe to our monthly plan on our website or the RecycleSmart app.

  2. Pack your soft plastics (and other tricky-to-recycle things) in our pink bags or any regular shopping bag (approx. 40x40x20cm).

  3. A friendly local driver will collect your items and drop them off at our consolidation point.

What happens to the soft plastics?

asphalt additive from soft plastics and toner powder

We are partnered with multiple soft plastic recyclers to offer the best solution currently available in your area. For example, your soft plastics will then be turned back into oil, or additive for asphalt.

Once our drivers have them baled at one of our consolidation points, they’re transported to our recyclers.

Here are the outcomes:

  • At the recycling facility, soft plastics are shredded, then broken down into feedstock oil.

  • This oil will be further turned into resin, which enables for manufacturing of new plastic consumer goods e.g. packaging.

  • Soft plastics are combined with upcycled materials to produce kitchen benches, roof panels, walls and more.
