  • Yes, in order to have your 3 Pickups count towards Green Tier, you will need to be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member and have linked your account with RecycleSmart. If you don’t have a Qantas Frequent Flyer account you can join free here.

  • Linking accounts is simple:
    1. Firstly log in or create a RecycleSmart account.
    2. Link your RecycleSmart and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts in your profile.

  • To unlock Green Tier, you need to complete 5 eligible activities within a Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership Year. Completing 3 pickups over a 6-month period counts as one of these activities.

  • Once you complete 3 Pickups, your Qantas Frequent Flyer account will reflect this as one of the 5 activities needed to achieve Green Tier. Please note that it may take up to 4–6 weeks for your account to update.

  • Yes, you will need to complete 3 Pickups with us in total, for it to account as 1 Green Tier activity. This needs to be done within 6 months.

  • Any Pickup you book and complete counts towards your total! We offer recycling solutions for a wide range of tricky recyclables, including soft plastics, e-waste, textiles, batteries, and more. Simply check our list to get inspired.

  • No, completing 3 Pickups counts as just 1 eligible activity. To achieve Green Tier, you need to complete 4 additional activities from Qantas' Green Tier options. Find out more here.

  • Qantas Frequent Flyers who achieve Green Tier can enjoy their choice of 10,000 Qantas Points, 50 Status Credits, or for Qantas to purchase carbon credits on their behalf as well as other benefits. You can learn more here.

  • You will need to complete 3 paid Pickups with us to complete 1 Green Tier activity. Your council-subsidised Pickups won’t count towards the activity.

What you need to know

You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer to earn and use Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions.

Disclaimer: to be eligible for Green Tier status, Qantas Frequent Flyer members must complete one activity in five out of six Green Tier categories in a Membership Year. Members must be residing in Australia with an Australian residential address in their profile. Members must be logged in to their Qantas Frequent Flyer account when completing the relevant activity (for example, booking an eco-accredited hotel) and residing in Australia with an Australian residential address in their profile.
