Recycling in every room: the Bathroom
The truth is, almost everything CAN be recycled. BUT some things cost more to recycle than the recycled material is worth.
Some products are more difficult to recycle. The main culprits being anything with a mirror, pump, magnets, makeup brushes and nail polish. These things are usually not recyclable.
Pumps are not recyclable through your kerbside bin. Remember to remove it from your shampoo or body wash if it has one.
Toothbrushes are also not recyclable through your kerbside bin. Colgate has set up a recycling program with Terracycle for toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss. Find drop off points here.
It’s important to avoid wish-cycling. That is, chucking something in the bin hoping that it will be recycled when it can’t be.
