Recycling in every room: the Office

Recycling becomes more difficult once we leave the house, as we have to hope there are recycling bins available where we go. People are more likely to use recycling bins if they are in convenient locations, so encouraging your workplace to place accessible bins around is the first step.

RecycleSmart collects:

  • Soft plastics: Confectionery packets, document sleeves, newspaper and magazine wrap, post satchels, zip lock bags

  • E-Waste: Chargers, computer parts, laptop, keyboard, mouse, headphones, printer, speakers, wifi modem

  • Misfits: Aluminium coffee capsules, batteries, lightbulbs, printer cartridges, takeaway coffee cups

Sustainable swaps:

  • Buy recycled paper: or better yet, go paperless!

  • Reusable water bottles, coffee cups and food containers: Remember your keep cup and other eating utensils when you leave the house

  • Buy second hand electronics: Check out Facebook marketplace, you may get the same thing you wanted for cheaper

Recycling tip: Encourage your co-workers to take their recycling home and book a RecycleSmart pickup!
