Decluttering can make you feel better!

  • Decluttering can decrease stress. Clutter can overwhelm your senses and reminds you of work to be done. By decluttering, you regain control over your environment.

  • By confronting clutter, you become conscious of what you’re holding on to and what you have too much of.

  • Walking into a clean and orderly room makes you feel active and energised, whereas a messy and cluttered room can make you feel anxious.

  • Decluttering saves time. By going through what you have, you are aware of where you have put things. You don’t have to spend that five minutes searching for the packet of batteries you swear you just bought.

  • You may find things you didn’t know you had, stopping you from buying more of the same thing.

  • Clearing space gives you focus. By spending time in clutter, we’re constantly reminded of what needs doing and can’t fully concentrate on the task at hand.

  • By clearing through your stuff, you become mindful of what really matters in life. (Hint - it’s not more stuff!)

  • You don’t have to declutter all in one-go! Taking 10-15min to declutter a space everyday might be the best way to actually get started!
