Mindful Business Resolutions for 2025

New year = new opportunities to make an impact!

With 2025 well and truly here, we want to help kickstart your mindful business resolutions.

We aren’t here to only suggest using reusable mugs and never using the printer (although these are valid points), we’re talking about connection and community too

Businesses are a great place to foster community between colleagues and promote sustainable behaviours on a personal and community level.

So, read on to get inspired!

team building
  1. The little things count

Small changes made in the workplace can have a grand-scale impact on work culture and the physical environment. For example, ensuring you have an effective recycling system set in place, checking in on your colleagues, promoting carpooling to work. Adopt the mentality of being 1% better everyday.

2. Promote diversity and inclusion

Sustainability in the workplace is not only about recycling, but it’s also about fairness and equality.

  • Reassess your policies: ensure your policies support underrepresented groups, include flexible work arrangements and training for employees seeking to grow.

  • Recognise good work: celebrating team wins can enhance confidence, performance and promote a supportive work environment.

  • Prioritise well-being: everyone experiences mentally challenging periods in their lives. That’s why it’s important to check-in with your colleagues regularly and ensure their best interests are met.

3. Enhancing community

Connecting with organisations that support a greater cause can be the missing piece to your sustainability puzzle.

  • Contribute to a not-for-profit organisation: create a relationship with an organisation that aims for positive change e.g. education, healthcare, environmental conversation.

  • Support startups and collaborations: partner with or fund startups that align with your sustainability goals.

4. Improve transparency and reporting

Every stakeholder respects accountability and transparency within businesses.

  • Revisit your sustainability goals: is there an aspect of your ESG that needs bigger focus for this year?

  • Keep everyone in the loop: have regular conversations about your goals with the team, customers and investors to stay on track.

5. Implement a fresh approach to waste management

Whether it be takeaway coffee cups or plastic sleeves from instant meals, becoming indifferent about how you dispose of your waste can happen when you’re focused on your actual job.

Luckily, our bin collects tricky-to-recycle items e.g. soft plastics, textiles (see full list here) from your doorstep and we sort it out for you.

You’ll keep valuable resources in circulation and become part of a national initiative.

The proof is in the pudding - read our Impact Report for 2024 here.

*Don’t forget to keep your goals S.M.A.R.T - specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound - for successful results.
