Just when you thought we couldn’t make recycling any easier, we’ve partnered with Australian Red Cross to donate your old clothes from your doorstep.
Red Cross shops receive the good quality clothing and sell them to raise funds for their charity. The money made from the items goes towards Red Cross teams helping people as they overcome hardship, crisis and disaster in Australia and all across the Asia Pacific.
The purpose of Red Cross is to bring people together in times of need and build on community strengths. We always need a feeling of togetherness in our neighbourhoods. That’s why we’re excited to be teaming up together!
The quality donations Red Cross accepts are:
Sellable women’s, men’s and children's clothing.
Vintage and retro clothing
Bags, shoes & accessories
Other items that RecycleSmart collects:
Stained or damaged clothing

Tips for decluttering your wardrobe:
Split your clothes into two piles:
One pile is definitely YES! Channel your inner Marie Kondo, choosing clothes that “spark joy.”
The other pile is the pile you aren’t sure about, the clothes you don’t wear as much.Piece together outfits out of the pile that you aren’t sure about so that you can see what they look like on.
Perhaps there will be something unexpected in there that you forgot looked so good. Then, that goes in the yes pile. Bonus!Gather the clothes you no longer need and put the good quality, sellable clothing in one bag labelled Red Cross.
All the damaged or stained items can go in another bag labelled unsellable textiles. We will collect these items to be given new life in the right channels.Order a Power Pickup from Recyclesmart.com or on the app and leave the bags at your front door at the time of your choosing. We’ll take care of the rest!
